创办于1998年的国际商业论坛，由上海市经济委员会和上海市外国专家局主办，《国际商业技术》杂志社承办，每年一届。至今，国际商业论坛已成功举办十届。各届论坛的主题都是围绕着中国和上海商业发展的中心确定：第一届为“物流现代化”；第二届为“物流与现代商业”；第三届为“电子商务与商业发展”；第四届为“现代化国际大都市的消费市场及其发展趋势”；第五届为“经济全球化与流通现代化”；第六届为“都市发展与商业功能”；第七届与国际购物中心协会（ICSC）合作举办，名称为“2004•第七届国际商业论坛暨第十二届国际购物中心协会亚太地区年会”，主题为：“让生活更美好：购物中心与城市发展”；第八届为“品牌：为城市创造震撼效应”；第九届为“循环经济与商业发展”；第十届为“奥运会、世博会与商业发展——互动•共赢”。
历届论坛都有上海市人大常委会、上海市政府或上海市政协的领导出席会见演讲专家，颁发荣誉证书，并发表主旨讲话。
十届论坛共邀请到145位中外专家学者发表演讲。国外专家中既有跨国集团领导人、国际组织高层等业界精英，又有美国总统奖获得者等杰出专家，如：英特尔公司副总裁威利•阿盖斯町；福特汽车公司副总裁蒂莫西•O•布莱恩；美国盖洛普公司主席、首席执行官吉姆•克里夫顿；英国石油集团全球副总裁、亚太区总裁盖瑞•德克斯；美国经济研究协会高级副总裁大卫•A•威尔科斯；惠普公司法务及客户服务高级副总裁戴安娜•贝尔；美国德拉华大学遥感中心常务主任、首席终身教授、总统奖获得者严晓海；国际购物中心协会主席詹姆斯•E•莫林；国际购物中心协会国际事务部副主席斯考特•哈里斯；家乐福集团总裁顾问施荣乐；德国西门子(中国)有限公司管理委员会成员、执行副总裁彼德•A•博格，等等。在论坛发表演讲的国内专家，包括政府主管官员，大型企业集团领导，大学、研究机构的学者等，如：北京奥组委物流部部长闫立刚；上海世博会事务协调局副局长、上海市建设和交通管理委员会副主任黄健之；上海市经济委员会副主任张新生；北京市朝阳区副区长程红；北京资和信集团总裁王吉绯；中国饭店协会副会长、上海餐饮行业协会会长何义钊；原百安居（中国区）总裁卫哲；宝山钢铁股份有限公司董事、副总经理李海平；上海华谊（集团）公司副总裁黄德亨；上海恒邦房地产开发有限公司总经理何磐光；上海港汇房地产开发有限公司董事兼总经理王裕强，等等。
经过多年运作，国际商业论坛已经形成自己的风格和特色，得到与会人士的好评，在国内外商界具有一定的影响，对推动上海商业、服务业的改革、开放和现代化、国际化起到了有效的促进作用。
The Brief of the Previous International Business Forums
Hosted by Shanghai Municipal Economic Commission and Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Foreign Experts, organized by the International Business & Technology Journal, the 1st International Business Forum ('IBF' in short) was held in 1998. Up to now, it is successfully held annually throughout ten years. The themes of each forum are in tone with the hotspot of the business development of Shanghai and China - ‘Logistics Modernization’, 1998; ‘Logistics & Modern Commerce’, 1999; ‘Electronic Business & Business Development’, 2000; ‘Consuming Market of the Modern Metropolis and its development trend’, 2001; ‘the Globalization of the Economy & the Modernization of the Distribution’, 2002; ‘Urban Development & Commercial Function’ 2003; and the most outstanding one is held last year with the partnership of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) - the 12th Annual ICSC Asia-Pacific Conference and Exhibition in Conjunction with the 7th International Business Forum, themed with ‘Shopping Centers: We Make Life Better!’; 'Brand, Highlighting the City', 2005; 'The Circular Economy and Business Development', 2006; 'Business Development Tones in with Olympic Games and World Expo', 2007.
The leaders from the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee, Shanghai Municipal Government, or CPPCC Shanghai attend the Forum annually, meeting with the speakers and presenting the certificates to them and delivery keynote speech as well.
Throughout the ten years, there are totally 145 speakers from both home and abroad.
